Sunday
11th June

Land’s End to Tintagel
82 Miles
Head out of Lands End through Truro, Wadebridge and on to Tintagel, expect it to be hilly.
Monday
12th June

Tintagel to
South Molton
60 Miles
Leave on the B3263 through Boscastle, Crackington Haven, Bude and Stratton. Enter Devon and head for South Moulton via Great Torrington.
Tuesday
13th June

South Molton to Cheddar
68 Miles
Leave on the B2227 North Moulton follows South (so at least we are going in the right direction!) enter Somerset via such wonderful sounding villages as Withypool, Bishops Lydeeard, Crandon Bridge and on to Cheddar.
Wednesday

Cheddar to
Ross-on-Wye
76 Miles
Enter Avon and through Crompton Martin, Chew Stoke, Chew Magna, Compton Dando (up a very steep hill!!), Saltford and travel along the Bristol and Bath Railway path, Puckleurch and enter Gwent. Onwards and upwards through Chepstow and English Bicknor arriving in the County of Hereford and Worcestershire to our overnight stop in Ross-on-Wye.

Ross-on-Wye to Market Drayton
93 Miles
Leaving Ross on Wye via the A449 through Mordiford and over the river Lugg, Bodenham, and Leominster heading into Shropshire and through Richards Castle, Ludlow (with its church, museum and many old house). At Much Wenlock view the 18th Century iron bridge and cross River Severn. On through Stoke-on-Tern (with its haunted manor house 'Petsey') and head for Market Drayton
Friday
16th June

Market Drayton to Blackburn
82 Miles
Leave and enter Cheshire. Through Ravensmoore, Knutsford and enter Greater Manchester keeping to the western edge of the city. Leave via West Haughton, into Lancashire finishing the day in Blackburn.
Saturday
17th June
Blackburn to Appleby-in-Westmoreland
71 Miles
Crossing into North Yorkshire via Slaidburn, and Burton in Lonsdale. Head into Cumbria and leave our chosen route to find our bed for the night in the wonderfully named Appleby in Westmoreland in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales.
Sunday
18th June

Appleby-in-Westmoreland to Langholm
81 Miles
Resume our dedicated route and head north again via Kings Meaburn, Kirkoswald, Castle Carrock, passing the Lanercost Priory and Naworth Castle and near to Hadrians Wall and enter Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland at Langholm.
Monday
19th June
Langholm to Edinburgh
60 Miles
Through the Border villages of Eskdalemuir, Trequair and Peebles and enter Lothian heading for Edinburgh via the National Cycle Network. Head for 53 Frederick Street for our night’s stop.
Tuesday
20th June
Edinburgh to Blairgowrie
83 Miles
Leave the city via the Forth Bridge and enter the Fife region and into Tayside travelling through Drum, Yetts O'Muckhart and Dunning. Now it starts to get very hilly and become more remote as we head towards Culloden and our much earned bed for the night in Blairgowerie.

21st June
Blairgowrie to Grantown-on-Spey
82 Miles
Enter Grampian region passing by Balmoral (hope she's laid on a welcoming party for us!) and enter the Highlands (I suspect we'll soon find out how it got this name!) as head towards our last night but one at Grantown-on-Spey.
Thursday
22nd June

Grantown to Altnaharra
98 Miles
The penultimate and longest day. Leave via the A939 and after 30 miles pass the Culloden Battlefield. Head onwards and upwards through North Kessock, Muir of Ord and Dingwall over the Bonar Bridge through Lairg and onto Altnaharra.

Altnaharra to John O’Groats
81 Miles

The last day and the end is in sight, through Melvich, Thurso (take in Dunnet Head and lighthouse, the UK's most Northerly point and a sheer drop to the sea below! And reach John O'Groats via the spectacular Stacks of Duncansby. A well earned drink awaits us at the Seaview Hotel (01955 611220).
